Mascha Legel

Mascha is the initiator and founder of Com in Beeld. Her creativity and enthusiasm have ensured that film is gaining increasing recognition as a form of assistive communication, not only in the Netherlands but also around the world.

Mascha is active as a project leader and researcher within the Com in Beeld project.

Joost Blommendaal

Joost is an independent consultant and manager and has been committed to improving the position of people with disabilities in society for many years. Joost is involved with Com in Beeld as a quartermaster and, together with Mascha, is responsible for starting up and expanding Com in Beeld in the Netherlands.

Suuz de Kuiper

Suuz is the planner of all productions, contacts the clients and creates order out of chaos. Suuz is blind and therefore cannot see where you are, so make yourself clearly known when you pass her by. She also has a very sweet guide dog, with a beautiful name: Cher.

Jelle van Kleef

Jelle is the ambassador, and the main source of inspiration, for Com in Beeld. As one of the pioneers in the innovative use of Film as Observable Communication, Jelle has been at the forefront of Com in Beeld’ development.

Jelle is now a professional filmmaker, and has several beautiful productions in his portfolio.

Stéfan Groen

Stéfan is one of our other professional cameramen and editors. He has a passion for the profession and this is reflected in his enthusiasm. He has been strengthening our team since September 2022 and you may see him for your production.

Nicky de Jong

Nicky has been strengthening the Com in Beeld team since 2025. Due to his great passion for video and sound, he is always working to ensure that the work is unique.

His motto is:

Christopher Norrie

Christopher is a researcher, and developer of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) technologies – strategies and tools designed to give people with complex communication needs the voice they often so desperately need. He recently obtained his PhD in Human Computer Interaction (HCI) at the University of Dundee, Scotland. His research has focused upon early intervention in the special education environment.
